New Tradition

new tradition

This Victorian style new build house was bought by our clients as a shell which meant the layout could be adapted to suit their needs. We worked as interior designers choosing finishes, specifying the kitchen and bathrooms, and selecting furniture, lighting and accessories. The clients wanted a neutral backdrop into which interesting pieces could be placed. It was important that their guests feel at ease, so furniture had to be comfortable, and they are young so there needed to be fun and vibrancy too.

Herringbone oak floors were selected to run throughout the ground floor to balance paler wall colours. We designed the Arts & Crafts style panelling that starts in the entrance hall, encompasses under-stairs storage, and wraps into the living room, where it allows for a television to be recessed. A suite was created on the first floor with bedroom, dressing room and bathroom. The background palette is grey, blue and cream, with colour dotted in smaller items. The dressing room has storage lining the walls with a central island.
